What are the Best Beauty Tips From Mum?

It is often said that mum knows best. Who knew that in this regard, this adage also applies to beauty tips, as well? Well, it should come as no surprise for you, dear offspring, since your mum is a woman first and foremost, after all!

So, with that said, what are the “beauty wisdoms” that dear mum has in store for you? Well, you can wonder no more since we’re listing the most important ones below! Check them out below!

1.       Take care of your hair, and the rest will follow

Men go crazy for long hair. Apparently, some women do, too. And really, there’s no exact reason for it other than the probable fact that the hair is the one thing that displays a “femininity” of a woman in full. But hey, that’s all just presumption on our part, so take it with a grain of salt!

Of course, you don’t have to have long hair just so you can be beautiful for the rest of your life; a well-trimmed and well-maintained hair can often be useful enough for this purpose, and it’s mainly because of the fact that once you have beautiful hair, you don’t have to work as hard maintaining what is “below” it just so you can be beautiful. And really, constantly experimenting with the styles of your hair can give you a fresh leash to “reinvent” yourself. Seriously, that is all the reason you need for it do so.

2.       Constantly wear sunscreen when you go out

So, we’ll just assume that you all know how faint-inducing the heat can be in Australia, right? Well, whilst we can boast of having the best combination of sun and surf around, you can always content yourself with the fact that you do not need to show up as being “tanned” just so you can prove to everyone that you have been enjoying your life as of late. And really, if there’s any reason why you should protect yourself from the sun these days, it’s because of these two words: global warming.

Yes, the sun’s rays is as harmful as it ever was before a generation ago, but lest we cast blame on factors beyond our control, do know that you still have the capability of protecting yourself by simply slathering your body with sunscreen every time you go out. But of course, if the thought of going out with sunscreen doesn’t appeal to you, then maybe using makeup with SPF maybe more palatable to your… err, tastes!

3.       Wear minimal makeup

This may be common to knowledge to some women already, but it still has to be stressed just in case you might have missed it the first time around: a decent amount of makeup is fine, but putting too much product on your face—particularly if you’re wont to do so on a daily basis—can be very harmful to your skin. In particular, your face will become very sensitive to having too much stuff on. And really, that’s not the kind of “red” you should be looking for when it comes to purposes like these.

So, mum really has got your back for this, then? Well, we hope you follow these tips to heart! Good luck!

Anti-Aging “Myths” that You Should be Aware of

There are countless ways to remain beautiful even in old age. Unfortunately, those factors listed below do not contribute anything to helping you look young, even if many of them have gotten to the point that they became very pervasive ideas.

So, with that said, here are the anti-aging “myths” you need to take note of if you are thinking of doing either one the few mentioned below:

1. Drinking water keeps your skin hydrated

It is true that constant hydration can be very helpful for you in the long run. However, the ever-common notion of drinking water every time you have the chance just so you can have beautiful skin does not—please pardon the pun—“water” at all. You can keep yourself from being dehydrated, but being overhydrated does not add anything significant to the look of your skin. If anything, a moisturiser can be more helpful for this purpose.

2. Brushing your hair 100 times to make it shinier

Really, the main thing why brushing your hair a hundred times to achieve silky smoothness does not hold much weight these days is because of the fact that it just takes too much work, and it looks like an activity lifted straight out of an obsessive-compulsive’s handbook. But of course, there is a valid reason to why no one is advising anyone to perform 100 brush strokes in a single sitting: it ruins your hair by thinning it. You are better off to brushing your hair with moderate strokes.

3. “Premium” beauty products work twice as well as those bought from the drugstore

If a product was presented in a very exquisite and classy manner in front of you, would you buy it? Chances are, all answers should point to “yes”. However, as to its effectiveness, you would probably be surprised to know that that high-class product does not have that much difference with a same one brought from a drugstore. As it turns out, the price you are paying for that classy product is mostly based on its packaging rather than the ingredients used for making the product.
